The 6th annual OMCW! This year the event is moving to a new venue, the Woods and McKee Farms, on the outskirts of Spencerville, Ontario. This new location is south of Ottawa and approx. 2 hours closer to Toronto and the U.S. border. The new location is minutes from Hwy 401.

Members of the OMSG attended the first annual Medieval Faire held by Upper Canada Village with a tent and display table. Interactive demonstrations of both armoured and unarmoured combat were performed throughout the weekend.

Royal Ontario Museum - Toronto
The Academy of European Medieval Martial Arts held an armoured tournament at the Royal Ontario Museum. Representatives of OMSG travelled to the tournament and distinguished themselves admirably.

Ottawa University Arts Courtyard
The Medieval Studies Student Association of Ottawa University will be holding a Medieval Faire where they will have booths set up with a variety of crafts people coming in to do demonstrations. The OMSG will be attending to showcase the martial arts practiced in the middle ages.

Once again the Ottawa Medieval Sword Guild is hosting its annual Medieval Camping Weekend. This is a family camping event welcoming people of all ages and last year we had lots of young people with their parents.

Mike Rasmusson of AEMMA Toronto came to Ottawa and did a German Longsword seminar for the OMSG members. Mike has studied and translated many German treteases and has accumulated thorough knowledge of the German martial style of the 13th and 14th centuries.
