Symbolism: The tinctures and chevron are a direct reference to the McKee Clan arms, as is the principle charge. To the bearer, the chevron represents the duty to defend the values he holds dear and to protect those that share them. The hand holding the dagger represents the link to the bearer's Gaelic ancestry and is also a personal reference to his passionate interest in European medieval martial arts. The motto serves as his personal martial ideal and his “cri de guerre.”
