Symbolism: For the bearer, the colors red and white represent peace through superior martial strength and are also a reference to Canada. The skulls are a reference to the moors head shown on the original Clan arms and skulls were prominent in pagan Celtic (Irish) mythology. Celtic Warriors often collected the head of their fallen opponents. More personally, the skulls are a personal reference to the bearer’s chosen saint, Saint Barbara, patroness of those who suffer sudden deaths. The ring and rose also feature on the Conway clan arms. To the bearer the ring is a symbol of fidelity and the rose a symbol of love as per the Clan’s motto.
